Ipswich have signed striker Dane Scarlett on a season-long loan from Tottenham.

The 19-year-old spent last term on loan at Sky Bet League One side Portsmouth where he scored six goals in 40 appearances in all competitions, including one against Ipswich in the Papa John's Trophy.

Scarlett came on as a substitute in Spurs' Carabao Cup penalty shoot-out defeat at Fulham on Tuesday, with boss Ange Postecoglou hinting at a potential exit after the match.

Before completing his temporary switch to Portman Road, Scarlett agreed a new one-year extension with Tottenham to keep him contracted to the Premier League club until the summer of 2027.

Scarlett, who previously worked with Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna in the youth ranks at Spurs, told his new club's website: "I'm really excited to get started here. I found out I was officially moving yesterday (Wednesday) but the move has been in the works for a few weeks.

"I remember playing against Ipswich last season and it was a good game. I liked the way the team played, so I'm really looking forward to being part of that."
