Ipswich shoplifter jailed

A 38-year-old Ipswich man has been sentenced to 16 weeks in jail after he admitted 13 counts of shoplifting.

Liam Senior of Cavendish Street was arrested by Police on Westgate Street on Tuesday (13 April), on suspicion of theft and was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre. He was subsequently charged with 13 counts of theft and was remanded into custody.

The thefts took place from a number of shops in Ipswich between 14 March and 13 April 2021. The value of the items stolen was more than £700 in total.

Senior admitted all charges when he appeared before Ipswich Magistrates Court yesterday (14 April) and was sentenced to 16 weeks imprisonment.
