Banking giant NatWest has announced plans to shut one of its branches in Ipswich later this year.

The Ransomes Europark branch will close its doors for the final time on November 8.

The company says its making the move as fewer customers are using the branch, with more preferring online services.

The branch on Tavern Street in the town centre will remain open as usual.

It's just the latest high street bank branch set to close, with the Barclays in Sudbury also set to go today.

Ipswich lost a branch of Lloyds earlier this year, while branches of HSBC went last year in Newmarket, Stowmarket and Woodbridge.

It comes amid concerns about access to cash and banking services in parts of the county, with more and more local bank branches closing.
