Ipswich secure eighth home league win of the season - with 3-1 victory over Millwall
They sit second in the league
Ipswich have secured their eighth home league win of the season - thanks to a 3-1 victory over Millwall.
The Blues' three goals all came in the first half, with Conor Chaplin opening the scoring before Massimo Luongo and Nathan Broadhead struck before the interval.
Kevin Nisbet grabbed one back for Millwall in the second half, but it wasn't enough to beat the Tractor Boys.
Boss Kieran McKenna made three changes to his side ahead of kick-off, with Harry Clarke, Axel Tuanzebe and Luongo all coming into the starting XI following the weekend game at West Brom.
Speaking to TownTV after the game, Kieran said: “There were certainly some good things in there to enjoy with three really good goals and some other good chances created in there too.
“There was lots to enjoy in our attacking performance and I thought our attacking press was really good and maybe among the best we’ve been. We were pretty relentless in winning the ball back, so that was really good.
“I thought we defended well, too. There were a couple of moments where we could have done better, the goal being one of them, but all in all we defended well, including from the set plays which are important against Millwall.
“It wasn’t the perfect performance, but there were lots of really good things in there.”
Ipswich sit second in the Championship.
