Ipswich man charged with filming people in changing rooms and showers

The 55 year old is accused of targeting eight separate victims berween the ages of 12 and 32

An Ipswich man has been charged after allegedly filming both children and adults in showers and changing rooms.

The incidents are alleged to have happened between Novermber 2018 and June 2020, with the offences first being reported to Suffolk Police in December last year.

55 year old Ian Butcher, of Woodbridge Road East, is charged with the following offences in relation to eight different victims, who are aged between 12 and 32.

  • One count of taking an indecent photograph of a child (for allegedly taking six videos)
  • One count of making an indecent photograph of a child (for the alleged possession of 16 indecent images)
  • Two counts of voyeurism (for allegedly recording an adult)

He's been released on bail ahead of an appearance at Ipswich Magistrates' Court on October 5.
