12 year old Ipswich drummer and social media star Nandi Bushell has released her first song as a solo artist.

Called 'The Shadows', the track is inspired by her dad's struggles with his mental health while he was undergoing treatment for an autoimmune condition.

Bushell was borne in South Africa but moved to Ipswich in 2010. She took up drumming at the age of five.

Nandi's videos on social media have drawn attention from stars across the world, including the likes of Questlove, Lenny Kravitz and former US President Barack Obama.

Earlier this year she was invited by Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl to perform at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert.

While Nandi has previously gone viral for her covers of songs, including Muse's 'Plug in Baby' and The Beatles' 'Come Together', this new single is her first original song as a solo artist.
