A cordon's in place in Ipswich as emergency services respond to reports of a man on a roof.

Thoroughfare and Dial Lane have been closed, and a cordon's in place in parts of Tavern Street, Princes Street and Butter Market.

Suffolk Police tells us they were called to Butter Market just after 4:30am, to reports of a burglary in progress at Carat’s Jewellers.

They then got a second call saying the male suspect had climbed onto the building's roof.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue and the East Anglian ambulance service are also at the scene.
