Man charged after woman assaulted in Ipswich

It's after a man allegedly drove his car at people trying to help

A man's been charged with a number of offences after a woman was assaulted in Ipswich at the weekend.

Police were called to Shackleton Road on the Nacton estate just after 4.15am on Sunday 13th March to reports a man had assaulted a woman - thought to be known to him.

He then allegedly drove his car at members of the public who tried to help - hitting one woman and a parked vehicle.

He then apparently drove off in the direction of Felixstowe Road.

An ambulance was called and both women, one in her teens and one in her 40s, were taken to hospitals - they're injuries are not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening.

Ryan Creasey, who's 21 and from Reynolds Road has since been charged with a number of offences:

Causing serious injury by dangerous driving

Dangerous driving

Assault causing actual bodily harm

Driving whilst disqualified

Driving without insurance

He's due to appear in court on Monday 14th March.
