Events will be hosted in Ipswich over the next few months which will provide free entertainment in a cost-of-living crisis.
Next Month the largest single-day music festival in the UK will take place in Christchurch Park, Ipswich Music Day.
Ipswich Borough Councillor Sophie Connelly is responsible for events in the area.
She told us why events like this are important.
"With the highest bills ever, the rising cost of food, creating major pressures on families, we are still able to work with our sponsors to bring fantastic events to Ipswich or free.
"I am very pleased that we can bring free events to people as we know that thousands of Ipswich residents rely on food parcels every week.
"And too many people, unfortunately, have been hit by fuel poverty this year, during the winter, we offered warm banks so people can stay warm.
"And we can offer free events to people this summer, so this is really fantastic."
Brings the community together
Councillor Connelly also told us that events like this help people to come together, and expressed how important that is during difficult times.
"One important aspect I believe is that people talk to each other at free of at those events.
"This is the reason why this helps people to feel more connected to their community and also reduces social isolation.
"So people can still attend free events, enjoy themselves, enjoy the music at the music day, don't feel left out because they can't afford to pay the entry tickets
"This is why the Ipswich Music Day event is so successful every year. This year, in particular, it will show how important a free event is and we're very proud to keep it free for everyone."
