Investigators say age may have been a factor in fatal Beccles plane crash

Investigators say age may have been a factor in a fatal plane crash which killed an 87 year old man in Beccles last March.
The plane ended up in a field after attempting to land at Beccles Aerodrome and bouncing off the runway.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch says the plane wasn't defective. They think age may have limited the ability of the pilot to control the plane.
It's investigation also found a lack of medical guidance of pilots - and raised concerns about a lack of assessment of the abilities of older pilots.
They have since recommended the Civil Aviation Authority make the necessary changes to improve safety.
