St Elizabeth's Hospice "confident" public will love new Ipswich sculpture trail
A third Wild in Art trail will be held in 2022 following the success of Pigs Gone Wild and Elmer's Big Parade
St Elizabeth's Hospice has described the theme of next year's Wild in Art trail as a "great choice".
While the public will be eager to find out what kind of sculptures will be dotted around Ipswich, the charity says it remains a carefully guarded secret.
Hannah Bloom, Director of Income Generation, thinks the reveal will be worth the wait.
She said: "We felt that it's been such a tough time for so many people that we need something good to look forward to and something exciting.
"So far the response has been absolutely fantastic from people who want to sponsor sculptures, from schools who want to get involved, volunteers and artists.
"It's a really fantastic way for everybody to get outside and be active, everybody from grandparents right the way through to young children in push chairs, and just enjoy our town of Ipswich.
"I can't tell you the sculpture unfortunately, it is a carefully guarded secret."
The trail will include 40 large sculptures across the town, as well as the creation of 60 smaller figures as part of the education project to engage with young people and school in the local area.
Ipswich Borough Councillor Sarah Barber said: "Ipswich Borough Council is very appreciative of the Hospice’s vital work and will be an active supporter of this new trail – as we were with Elmer and Pigs Gone Wild. This announcement is great news – particularly at a time when the local economy really needs a boost and things to look forward to."
