Two men had insults shouted at them on Friday afternoon

Suffolk Police is appealing for witnesses, after two men were subjected to homophobic and racially-aggravated abuse.

On Friday afternoon, the couple were leaving Haverhill Library, when a group of four or five young people shouted insults at them.

The incident occurred at approximately 4.15pm on Friday 17 December in Camps Road.

A statement from Suffolk Police added: 'A man and his male partner were leaving the library together, when a group of four or five young people started shouting racist and homophobic insults at them, causing them to feel alarmed and distressed.

'Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any knowledge should contact Suffolk police, quoting crime number: 37/71927/21'
