Haverhill man convicted of stalking shop worker

The 40 year old targeted a teenager who worked at a shop in the town

A Haverhill man has been convicted of stalking a teenager working at a shop in the town.

40 year old James O'Reilly, of Dunsey Wood Close, admitted to targeting the girl between February and July 2022.

He send messages from various Instagram accounts to the victim.

O'Reilly has been handed a one year restraining order, will serve a six month curfew and will have to pay £700 in compensation.

Investigating officer PC Steve Fox of Suffolk Constabulary said: “The victim felt extremely fearful and anxious as a consequence of O’Reilly’s actions and the whole affair had a significant emotional impact on the victim."

"This case demonstrates that we take all reports of stalking and harassment extremely seriously and that we will do everything we can to support them.”
