Have your say on Ipswich park byelaws

The byelaws proposed by Ipswich Borough Council will help people understand what they can and cannot do in parks and open spaces.
Residents, businesses and visitors are now being asked what they think about them, before they're sent to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) for approval.
Councillor Phil Smart, Ipswich Borough Council’s Environment portfolio holder, urged people to have their say and help them protect parks and open spaces.
He said: “We want our cherished parks and open spaces to be enjoyed by everyone and protected in to the future.”
The consultation will run until 13 September.
Current by-laws were made in 1983 and only include a quarter of the town’s open spaces.
Councillor Smart added: “We need up to date byelaws that include all our parks and open spaces and regulate a wider range of activities that can impact on visitors and local wildlife.”
