Have your say on East Suffolk budget
The council wants our views
Residents and businesses are invited to have their say on East Suffolk Council’s spending priorities before budget is set next month.
East Suffolk Council has launched a consultation to enable local people and businesses to have their say on what they would like the Council’s 2021/22 budget to focus on to ensure it continues to deliver vital services and support to communities and businesses.
Cllr Maurice Cook, cabinet member for Resources, said:
"The Covid-19 pandemic has shown just how important council services are to our communities and businesses, but it has also presented a significant financial challenge to the Council. However, we are committed to continue to deliver the services our communities and businesses need and rely on by making careful, yet bold decisions in our budget plans.
"This consultation reflects the challenges we face, but it also set out our approach to support our communities and businesses through this difficult time and beyond, to help them recover and thrive.
"I want to urge everyone who lives and works in East Suffolk to take part and share your views with us so we can efficiently plan for the future and continue to meet the needs of our communities and businesses."
East Suffolk Council wants to encourage as many people as possible to take part in the consultation, which provides an opportunity to review and comment on the Council’s approach to financial sustainability and meeting the budget challenges ahead.
The consultation close on Friday 22 January 2021 at 5pm.
