£5.5 billion will be invested into supporting the building of Sizewell C nuclear power station, located on the Suffolk coast.

The power station itself was approved by the Chancellor in 2022.

Now, a new nuclear power subsidy scheme, known as DESNZ, will offer more funding to help get Sizewell C finished.

Labour said they would back the project in their manifesto as part of their plans to achieve cleaner energy and to reach net zero.

Supposedly, it will also bring 10,000 jobs.

Preparation has already started, in the form of roads, fencing and accommodation surrounding the Sizewell C site.
