Police launch appeal after two motorcyclists injured in Glemsford crash

One man's injuries are said to be potentially life-changing

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious crash in Glemsford that left two men seriously injured.

Officers were called just after 4pm on Friday 2 June to reports of a three-vehicle collision on the A1092 Lower Road, near the entrance to Willow Tree Farm Shop.

The incident involved a white Mercedes Sprinter van, a black Kawasaki motorcycle and an Orange KTM motorcycle.

Ambulance staff and Suffolk Fire and Rescue Crews were in attendance, with both motorcycle riders being taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital – one via air ambulance and the other by land ambulance.

The two riders – a man aged in his 30s and a man aged in his 50s – both sustained serious injuries, with the injuries of the man aged in his 30s described as potentially life-changing.

The road remained closed until 10pm on Friday evening for recovery of the vehicles and a collision investigation to take place.

Officers are looking to hear from any witnesses to the crash.
