A fundraiser launched for the family of a Suffolk man who was killed in a crash near Ipswich last week has so far raised more than £12,000.

47 year old Ben Jacobs, from Rushmere, was fatally injured when a car collided with two cyclists on the A137 on Church Road in Bentley.

Ben was a keen athlete and a volunteer with Ipswich Parkrun and was also a member of Felixstowe Road Runners.

Another cyclist suffered minor injuries during the crash.

In a message on GoFundMe, long time friend Steve Harding wrote: "Ben was a valued, loyal member of Touchwood UK with 27 years of service and he is going to be immensely missed by us all."

"The family have so much cost ahead of them and were not in any way prepared for the tragic loss of a special Husband and Father.

"Please if I can ask Bens friends from the biking and running community to help this wonderful family at this desperately sad time."
