Free public Wi-Fi launched in Felixstowe

It's in a bid to boost trade and encourage more people to shop in the town centre

Free to use public Wi-Fi is launching in Felixstowe today.

It's just the latest town in East Suffolk to get connected as part of a council plan to boost trade and encourage more people to shop on local high streets.

The scheme was initially piloted in Framlingham in 2019 and has already been rolled out in Lowestoft.

The new technology is funded by the Getting Building Fund and New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership.

It's being rolled out alongside new support for local businesses which will help local firms with digital skills and plans for growth.

Free Wi-Fi is also set to be launched in another East Suffolk towns, inclding Woodbridge, Southwold, Beccles, Bungay, Halesworth, Aldeburgh, Leiston and Saxmundham.

The provision launch date for those areas is October this year.
