John Kerr MBE, the former Chairman of Ipswich Town and a well known figure in Suffolk farming, has died at the age of 83.
Born in 1939, John became a baord member at Portman Road in 1983 and took over from Patrick Cobbold as Chair in 1991.
He was at the help for Ipswich Town's first season in the Premier League, ultimately making way for David Sheepshanks in 1995.
He remained a director at the club until 2007 and was given a Special Merit Award in 2013.
John was a leading figure in Suffolk farming and helped to set up Easton Farm Park in the 1970s. He is a former President of the Suffolk Show.
Paying tribute, ITFC chair Mike O'Leary said: "We knew John had been unwell for a period of time but this is still very sad news."
"He contributed a huge amount to the Football Club and was held in high regard at Portman Road.
"This will be a tough time for his family and friends, as well as former colleagues, so right now our thoughts are with them."
