A road sign in an East Suffolk village, which pointed towards the mystery seaside town of 'Flexistowe', has been replaced with one pointing towards the (definitely real) town Felixstowe.

The mis-spelled sign was installed in Kirton at the end of last week at the junction of Trimley Road, with the error later going viral on social media.

The new signage was installed at the cost of £3,000 after calls from the local parish council.

Suffolk Highways say they've been 'Flex'-ible and have since swapped the incorrectly spelled part of the sign out.

In a statement on social media, Highways said: "Thank you to everyone who reported it directly to us, we hope this didn’t cause too much confusion #WeAreHuman"

Don't worry... it happens to the best of us.
