Five men jailed in connection with drug dealing in Ipswich

All were arrested after raids in Alston Road and Shackleton Square in Ipswich.

Five men have been jailed for a total of over 28 years after admitting to drugs offences in Ipswich.

It comes after a series of police raids on March 18 2020 in Alston Road and Shackleton Square in Ipswich.

Around £200 worth of cash was recovered along with mobile phones later linked to drug dealing.

A further £2000 in csh was located along wraps of heroin and cocaine at a third property.

The men were subsequently arrested and charged. The group sentenced today at Ipswich Crown Court include:

- Ishmael O'Connor, 34, of Alston Road, Ipswich - given 5 years 3 months for being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine

- Shadrach O’Connor, 27, of no fixed address - given 5 years 3 months for being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine

- Tyrone Clarke, 28, of Shackleton Square, Ipswich - given 7 years 6 months for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs

- Lamar Dagnon, 24, of no fixed address - given 7 years 6 months for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs

- Daniel McCallion, 21, of Gilbert Road in Eastbourne - given 3 years 4 months for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs

Investigating officer DC Chris Townrow said: ”This was a sophisticated and well organised criminal operation and to have secured guilty pleas early on demonstrates the compelling but complex evidence that they were all facing.

"This group were determined to sell on the streets of Ipswich bringing misery to residents and vulnerable people.

"We have taken apart their business, disrupted their criminal activity and secured convictions against all offenders involved.

“This is the kind of activity we are targeting and we will continue to take robust action against those who deal drugs around the county.

"I am pleased with today’s sentence and it should be a warning to those dealing that we will not tolerate it."
