A stretch of river in Suffolk has been restocked with 6,000 fish.

The Environment Agency supplied the chub and dace to Brandon and District Angling Club for their part of the Little Ouse.

They were grown at its Calverton Fish farm along with 18,000 others, including difference species, which have restocked other rivers in East Anglia.

The locations also included Cambridgeshire, Milton Keynes and Bedfordshire, and were chosen as they proved the most suitable habitat for juvenile fish, as well as ongoing joint habitat enhancement projects between the Environment Agency and angling clubs.

Chris Middleton, a fisheries officer for the Environment Agency, said:

"It was great to be able to boost fish numbers across four rivers in East Anglia. This valuable work was made possible thanks to fishing licence income."
