Firefighters battle flames and smoke in Metfield after agricultural buildings go up in flames overnight
A major fire has broken out at Cherry Tree Farm in Metfield, involving several large agricultural barns. The incident has prompted a significant emergency response.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at around 1.45am after multiple reports from local residents. The fire involves a number of barns spanning approximately 150 by 40 metres, containing straw bales, agricultural machinery, and a workshop.
Six fire engines and specialist aerial appliances are currently at the scene, with crews using hose reels to tackle the flames. A water carrier is also in use due to limited water supply in the area.
