Fire breaks out at tyre processing plant in Lakenheath

Five crews have been tackling a blaze at a tyre processing plant in Lakenheath.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire at Murfitt Industries in Station Road in Lakenheath at around 5:30pm on Tuesday (29 April).

The fire was in the roof of a building housing tyre rubber recycling equipment.

The fire was deemed under control by around 9:30pm.

One engine from Mildenhall, one from Brandon, one from Thetford in Norfolk, one from Methwold in Norfolk, one from Cambridge and a turntable ladder appliance from Cambridge, were in attendance.
