A14 reopens at Claydon after emergency road repairs

Drivers were asked to avoid the area.

Police say the A14 at Claydon has reopened after emergency repairs on the carriageway this morning.

Officers were called at 8.30am this morning to reports of an obstruction in the road.

A piece of the road was found to have broken away, leaving a large whole in the carriagway.

Three vehicles have been damaged as a result.

The westbound carriageway was shut between junction 53 at Whitehouse in Ipswich, to junction 52 at Claydon.

National Highways have now made the road safe.
