Ed Sheeran auction set to support East Anglia children’s hospice
The new auction features quirky items donated by the chart-topping singer-songwriter.
An auction featuring items donated by superstar Ed Sheeran is set to raise vital funds for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
The seven-day event goes live on Sunday, (7 December) and will showcase almost 60 quirky items, including eco-friendly glasses, trainers, mugs for ‘mummy and daddy to be,’ and a beaded friendship bracelet.
Scott Campbell, EACH’s eCommerce Manager, expressed gratitude for Sheeran’s continued support.
“Ed and his family have donated a wealth of garments and accessories over many years, generating so much excitement and fascination,” Campbell said.
“In fact, since our first auction in 2016, we’ve raised over £70,000 on his second-hand clothing alone.
“It’s an extraordinary amount, and we realise how lucky we are to have such high-profile support. It’s invaluable and helps shine a global light on the care and support we provide to children and their families.”
Previous auctions featuring Sheeran’s donations have raised significant amounts of money.
A pink, medium-sized Ipswich Town kit designed in collaboration with the singer-songwriter fetched £592 – the highest price paid for a single item to date.
The shirt, which Sheeran had worn, represents Suffolk’s iconic pink cottages and features a silhouette of Framlingham Castle, famously referenced in his song ‘Castle on the Hill.’
Other notable sales include a signed Heinz tomato ketchup bottle, inspired by Sheeran’s tattoo of the condiment label, which sold for £470, and a Ralph Lauren hoodie worn by the artist, which raised £333.
Ed Sheeran, who became an Ambassador for EACH in 2014, has demonstrated consistent support for the charity.
The 34-year-old visited The Treehouse hospice in Ipswich to meet families and staff and performed an acoustic set at a gala fundraiser at Cambridge’s Natural History Museum in 2016.
That evening, a drum kit donated by Sheeran raised £2,650 while the overall fundraiser generated more than £262,000.
EACH provides care and support for nearly 800 children, young people, and family members across the region. Their services include end-of-life care, bereavement support, physical therapies, and family activities.
