East of England farmers call on new government to provide 'security'

A union representing farmers in the East of England says our region's MPs must do more to help secure their future.
It's after Labour won the General Election with more than 400 seats in a landslide victory.
Sir Keir Starmer became Prime Minister on Friday, telling people at a victory rally in central London, the country can now "get its future back".
Nick Deane is from the East of England NFU board: "The Anderson Centre did a study which showed that to achieve the statutory environmental, climate and policy ambitions, we need to budget ÂŁ4 billion."
"It's the sort of thing we ought to be securing for farmers, to give them the security to plan ahead."
Nick explained what farmers want to see from the new Labour government.
"Fairness within the supply chain. We would really like to see some common basic standards of food production and particularly that needs to be monitored on our borders."
"The Labour manifesto has the some of the right wording in it, but it's a question about how that will be delivered. So confidence from that point of view is in a position where it is higher than it has been, but the devil is in detail.
"It's complicated because you've got the environment, food production, food security - so to be able to explain that to MPs and work out a certain direction of travel is really important."
