Death of man in Cavendish car fire not treated as suspicious

Police investigating the death of a man in a car fire in Cavendish on Saturday 6th March say the death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.

The driver was found at the wheel of a grey Hyundai IX35, on The Green, at around 7.30am.

The man in his 70's was pronounced dead at the scene - his family have been informed.

Police say a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.

Officers are asking for any witnesses, including drivers who may have captured dash cam footage of the area, to come forward.
