A man's been arrested on suspicion of murder after two people were stabbed in Bury St Edmunds.

Police were called around 3pm on Tuesday 26th April by a member of the public who believed a stabbing had happened in a car park in Harland Court, off Station Hill.

Officers were sent straight away and found a man and woman injured in a nearby flat.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical but stable condition.

Around half an hour later police arrested a 38 year-old local man on suspicion of murder - he's been taken in for questioning.

Detectives want to hear from anyone who saw the attack or was in the area between 2pm and 3pm.
