Do not approach man who absconded from Suffolk prison, say Police

Police are advising people not to approach 40-year-old Jay Sharpley after he absconded from Hollesley bay prison in Suffolk

Police in Suffolk are appealing for help in locating a man who has absconded from Hollesley Bay prison.

Jay Sharpley, aged 40, was reported as missing yesterday (13th April) with officers told of his absence at 18:00.

He is serving 8 years and 8 months for Robbery, Possession of an imitation firearm with intent and concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

Sharpley is known to have links to Southend on Sea, Shrewsbury and Bournemouth

He is described as white male, who is 6ft tall with a medium build with brown hair and eyes. Sharpley also has a neck tattoo stating, The strong lead and the weak follow.

He was wearing grey hoodie, grey basketball cap and blue jeans when he absconded.

Officers are asking anyone who has seen him or knows the location of his whereabouts not to approach him, but to contact police on 999 quoting CAD reference SC-13042024-351
