Second man charged after kidnap and assault in Brandon

A 50 year old Diss man is now facing charges, alongside a 62 year old man from Thetford

A Diss man has become the second person to be charged, after a man was allegedly taken to an industrial estate in Brandon and assaulted.

It happened between 10 and 11am on October 22, when the victim went to an address on London Road to meet another man.

He then got into a car with him, before the pair picket up two other men.

The victim was then driven to the industrial area where the attack happened.

Johnathan Horridge, aged 50 and of South Drive in Diss, is charged with blackmail, kidnap and possession of offensive weapon following his arrest on November 24.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Ipswich Crown Court on January 2 2024.

Shahid Mhamood, 62, of Arlington Way, is charged with kidnapping, blackmail and possession of an offensive weapon.

He appeared before Ipswich Crown Court on November 23 and has since been released on bail.

A 38 year old man and a 35 year old woman have been released on bail after being questioned on suspicion of kidnapping and possession of a Class B drug.

Police are still trying to trace the drivers of three vehicles seen in the Norwood Road, Richmond Road and Wimbledon Avenue areas at the time, as its believed they may have useful information.
