Deacon Blue are coming to Suffolk this summer.

The Scottish band will be headlining Newmarket Nights on the 16th August, bringing their ‘All The Old 45s - The Very Best of Deacon Blue’ tour to the race course.

One of Scotland’s most successful musical exports, Deacon Blue have had twelve top 40 singles and eight top 20 albums, including 1989’s ‘When The World Knows Your Name’ and 1994’s ‘Our Town’, both of which hit the #1 spot.

Celebrating 35 years, the band unveiled their greatest hits anthology collection ‘All The Old 45s - The Very Best of Deacon Blue’ last year.

Sophie Able, General Manager of Newmarket Racecourses, said: “Deacon Blue are renowned for their incredible live shows and we can’t wait to welcome them to Newmarket Nights on Friday 16th August.

"Our line-up this Summer ranges from eighties icons to the most coveted current chart stars, so there’s really a night for everyone!”

Deacon Blue said: “Since we released our greatest hits, we’ve had an amazing time touring arenas across the UK and can’t wait to bring our live show to Newmarket Nights.

"Summer shows are always very special for us – see you there!”
