Convicted murderer arrested after escaping from Suffolk prison

A convicted murderer who escaped from Hollesley Bay prison in Woodbridge has been arrested.

34 year-old Daniel Barker was reported missing yesterday morning, Thursday 11 July, after he was found to be absent at a roll call.

Barker handed himself in to police in Ipswich last night and was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre, where he currently remains.

He was sentenced to life in prison in 2005 for murder.
