Cyclist dies in Bury St Edmunds crash

A cyclist has died after a crash in Bury St Edmunds.

He was in a collision with a blue Nissan Qashqai in Newmarket Road between the two junctions for Dettingen Way at 6pm yesterday evening (12 April).

Paramedics and the air ambulance were called, but the man in his 60s passed away at the scene.

The road remained completely closed until 8.15pm whilst a collision investigation took place and was fully reopened at around midnight, following recovery of the car and the bicycle.

Police are calling for anyone who saw the collision to come forward, along with anyone driving in the area just prior to the crash, who has a dashcam in their vehicle.
