Cyclist airlifted to hospital following collision in Sudbury

A woman in her 60s suffered serious injuries

A woman has been airlifted to hospital following a collision involving a car and a bike in Sudbury.

The collision took place on A134 southbound at the junction with Newmans Green at around 4.20pm yesterday with the car described as a black Volkswagen Polo.

The cyclist, a woman in her 60s, sustained serious injuries and was air lifted to hospital where she currently remains for treatment.

Her injuries are now described as critical but stable.

Suffolk Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision and asking any motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
