Pair plead not guilty to murder of two-year-old girl in Ipswich

A woman and her ex-boyfriend have denied murdering a two-year-old girl in Ipswich.

The body of Isabella Rose Wheildon was found in a temporary housing unit in Sidegate Lane, on 30 June 2023.

Appearing before Ipswich Crown Court on Monday, Chelsea Gleason-Mitchell, 24, from Bedfordshire, pleaded not guilty to her daughter's murder.

She did plead guilty to causing or allowing the death of a child, cruelty to a child in relation to cocaine, and cruelty to a child in relation to cannabis.

Her ex-boyfriend, Scott Jeff, 24, from Bedfordshire, pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The pair's trial, which is expected to hear opening statements on Tuesday, is set to last for between five and eight weeks.
