Controlled explosion carried out in Woodbridge

The cordon has since been lifted around the property where the discovery was made.

Police search teams discovered the chemicals inside the property on Bridgewood Road late this morning, 21st October.

A 50 metre cordon was put in place and around 30 properties were evacuated as a precaution.

The army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team were called to the property and removed the item.

A controlled explosion was carried out in the nearby Fen Meadow at 3pm and residents were allowed to return to their properties.

Police have thanked local residents for their patience and understanding throughout the day.
