College evacuated after malicious communication received

An evacuation at a college took place today with students sent home after a potential security threat was alerted.

Suffolk One College on Scrivener Drive in Ipswich saw police respond just before midday.

Suffolk police stated:

"Police are currently in attendance at Suffolk One College, Scrivener Drive, Ipswich after a malicious communication was received.

An evacuation was put in place by the College, while investigations are taking place.

There are currently road closures in place by The One Sixth Form College in Ipswich between the A1214/London Rd roundabout junction with Tesco Copdock and A1214/London Rd junction with the A1071."
