Ipswich Town's Chiedozie Ogbene named Republic of Ireland Men's International Player of the Year
It comes after it was announced he won't make a return this season following an Achilles tear.
Ipswich Town's Chiedozie Ogbene has been named the Republic of Ireland’s Senior Men's International Player of the Year.
The attacker- who joined in the summer from Luton- won the award at the FAI International Awards in Dublin yesterday evening (Thursday 15th November).
It's for his international performances between June 2023 and June 2024.
This year was the first time he's been nominated.
Chieo made nine appearances for his country in that time and won the award ahead of fellow Premier-League-men Gavin Bazunu (Southampton) and Evan Ferguson (Brighton).
He's so far made six appearances for the Tractor Boys.
We reported earlier this month, that he won't be returning to Premier League action this season, after suffering an Achilles tear in Ipswich's loss to Brentford.
