Car ends up in gas works hole after crash in Lowestoft

Two cars collided, leading one to drive into the hole that has been dug for gas works

A car has ended up in a gas works hole after a collision this morning.

Emergency services were alerted to a crash on Corton Road, Lowestoft, at approximately 7:45 am.

The incident involved two cars, with one vehicle veering off into a hole dug for gas mains works.

Cadent, the gas company responsible for the works, was immediately informed, to make the area safe.

As a result, road closures were implemented on Links Road and Corton Road from 7:56am for safety checks.

Following thorough inspections, roads were reopened at 11:17 am.

The injuries sustained by the two individuals involved were reported as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.
