Man arrested after Bury St Edmunds stabbing

A 58 year old man's been arrested after a woman was stabbed in Bury St Edmunds.
It happened yesterday evening (Wednesday 14th June) just before half past ten in St Olaves Road.
The woman, aged in her 50s, was taken to West Suffolk Hospital for treatment, where her condition is currently described as stable.
A 58-year-old man from Bury St Edmunds was subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.
He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where he remains.
The car park at St Olaves shopping precinct has been cordoned off as police investigate the incident.
