Bury St Edmunds MP Jo Churchill will not stand in the General Election

The Work and Pensions minister says it's been a privilege and honour to serve the people of Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket

Work and Pensions minister Jo Churchill has announced she will not stand again in the coming General Election.

In a letter posted on X, formerly Twitter, the Bury St Edmunds MP said she had reached the decision for "family reasons".

Ms Churchill could be seen on the Government frontbenches in the Commons chamber on Thursday morning around the time the announcement was posted.
