A Bury St Edmunds man has been jailed for almost three years after police seized a locked safe containing cocaine and cash during a raid.

42 year old Darren Aldis of Mortimer Road admitted to possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of criminal property at Ipswich Crown Court, where he was jailed for 34 months.

Police raided his home on March 1, recovering the safe, which contained around £6,000 worth of cocaine, as well as £1,000 in cash.

DI Greg Moore said: “This was a great bit of teamwork between the East and West Serious Crime Disruption team and the local neighbourhood response officers to secure this conviction.

"This outcome should serve as a reminder to any drug dealers considering Suffolk for their criminal business, it will be only a matter of time before the inevitable happens and we arrest, charge and convict you.”
