Police are appealing for witnesses or information after a boy was bitten by a dog in Ipswich.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:55am on Monday 12 August in Ellenbrook Park, Ellenbrook Road in the town.

The victim was in the river area of the park when a dog, which was not on a lead, jumped up and bit the boy leaving teeth marks on his back.

The dog is described as a large brown and black dog.

The owner of the dog is described as a white man, in his early 30s with brown hair and facial hair.

Anyone who believes they may know this man, or who has any information regarding this incident, is asked to contact the Crime Coordination Centre.
