Boy denies attempted murder following Kesgrave shooting

The 15-year-old victim remains in hospital in a stable condition

A boy accused of shooting a teenager who was on his way to school in Kesgrave appeared at Ipswich Crown Court today (22 February).

The 16-year-old from the Woodbridge area, who was 15 at the time and cannot be named due to his age, was initially charged with attempted murder, possessing a shotgun with intent to cause fear of injury of another person, and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

A further two counts were added to his indictment as he appeared in court - wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and another charge of possessing a shotgun with intent to cause fear of violence against a second individual

The defendant pleaded not guilty to all charges and a date for trial has been set for 4 May.

Suffolk Police say the victim remains in hospital in a stable condition.
