Body found in River Gipping identified as missing Ipswich man
The body has been provisionally named as 63-year-old Julian De Bono
Suffolk Police have named a man whose body was found in the River Gipping in Ipswich on Saturday (16th December).
Pending formal Coroner’s inquest proceedings, the deceased has been provisionally identified as 63-year-old Ipswich man Julian De Bono.
De Bono had last been seen on CCTV in the early hours of Sunday 10th December in Ipswich town centre.
Officers conducted extensive searches last week and specialist underwater teams discovered the body of a man on Saturday.
A Home Office post-mortem examination was carried out yesterday (18th December). The Home Office Pathologist are awaiting results of the toxicology tests before formally confirming cause of death, but early indications are consistent with drowning.
Suffolk Police are not treating the death as suspicious while there is no indication of any third-party involvement.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Julian De Bono's disappearance.
