Investigation launched after body found in woodland near Stowmarket

The discovery was made yesterday - with the death being treated as unexplained

An investigation has been launched after a body was discovered at a nature reserve near Stowmarket.

It was found by a member of the public in Combs Wood, off Church Road, at around 6:30am yesterday (May 23).

The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a police cordon remains in place.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Suffolk Constabulary said:

“Officers are asking that anyone who was in the area between 5am and 6.30am or has any information that could assist officers contact West CID at Bury St Edmunds Police Station on 101, quoting reference CAD 31 of 23 May.”
