Body found in River Orwell

A man's been found dead in the River Orwell.

Police were called just before 5.30am this morning (16 June) to reports of concern for a man's safey.

They found clothing on Orwell Bridge, prompting a multi-agency search involving paramedics, fire crews and the coastguard.

A 22-year-old's body was found just over two hours later - his death isn't being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.

Next of kin have been informed.
