Appeal after body found in Ipswich park

Police are appealing for witnesses after a body was found in an Ipswich park.

Officers were called by a member of the public at 5.50am this morning, Wednesday 27 August, reporting that they had found a woman lying on the ground in Sherrington Road Recreation Ground.

Ambulance crews attended and the woman was subsequently declared to be deceased just over 30 minutes later.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained and there is a police scene in place around the entire recreation ground, which will remain closed whilst initial enquiries take place.
